Stump Grinding
Basic stump grinding removes approximately 6" to 8" of the stump below grade. This provides enough depth to place a layer of soil with seed over the stump area. Over time any of the remaining portion of the buried stump will decay and return to dirt.

Complete Stump Removal
Standard Stump Grinding:
Standard stump grinding removes approximately 8" to 12" of the stump below grade. This provides enough depth to add a layer of soil and sod over the stump area. Over time any of the remaining portion of the buried stump will decay and return to dirt.
Construction Stump Grinding:
Contruction stump grinding removes approximately 12" to 24" of the stump below grade. This provides enough depth for laying of concrete over the stump area. Over time any of the remaining portion of the buried roots will decay and return to dirt.
Complete Stump Removal:
Full stump removal serves no practical purpose to completely remove a stump. However with the exception of excavation for construction purposes, footings, septic pipes, etc complete stump removal is then the only option. The large machinery used for complete stump removal can increase landscaping repair costs.
